Janata Jute Mills Ltd & Sadat Jute Industries Ltd – which combined together, is the largest manufacturer & exporter of Jute products in the Bangladesh.
Our exports of yarn is approx. 100,000 metric tons/annum at present. In addition, we manufacture approx. 40,000 metric tons/annum of woven and other products.
During the last 23 years, our Mills have received the National Export Award on 20 occasions, in addition to various other National & International awards.
Our Story
1967
Establishment of Janata
Janata Jute Mills Ltd. was established at Palash, Narsingdi; which is approx. 50km to the North-East to Dhaka. It covers an area of 45 acres.
1969
Janata, Mill No. 1
Mill No. 1 was set-up. It’s production capacity is approx. 9,150 metric tons of cloth, bags and geo-textiles.
1985
Janata, Mill No. 2
Mill No. 2 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 7,500 metric tons of Jute yarn/twine, Jute ball, mini spools & other Jute diversified products.
1985
Establishment of Sadat
Sadat jute industries Ltd. was established at Debidwar, Cumilla, on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway; which is approx. 85km to the South- East to Dhaka. It covers an area of 17 acres.
1986
Sadat, Mill No. 1
Mill No. 1 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 8,500 metric tons of Jute yarn/twine.
1994
Sadat, Mill No. 2
Mill No. 2 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 12,700 metric tons of Jute yarn/twine.
1996
Janata, Mill No. 3
Mill No. 3 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 7,800 metric tons of Jute yarn/twine.
2000
Janata, Mill No. 4
Mill No. 4 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 10,700 metric tons of Jute yarn/twine, coated yarn, cable yarn, binder twine, Jute ball, tatami yarn and other diversified jute products.
2001
Sadat, Processed Fiber Unit
Processed Fiber Unit was set-up. It’s production capacity is 2,500 metric tons of processed fibers for non-woven application in the automotive and furniture industries.
2004
Janata, Mill No. 5
Mill No. 5 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 12,400 metric tons of special Hessian fabrics for the Linoleum industry & horticultural uses.
2008
Janata, Mill No. 6
Mill No. 6 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 1,100 metric tons of non-woven felt, using process waste.
2016
Janata, Effluent Treatment Plant
Effluent Treatment Plant was set up. It’s capacity to treat waste water up to 20-meter cube/hour (equivalent to 10 m. tons per day of our dyeing process).
2020
Acquisition of Partex Jute Mills
Ex. Partex Jute Mills, Dobra, Boalmari, Faridpur was acquired by Janata Jute Mills Ltd. It’s production capacity of jute yarn/twine & Weaving are approx. 42,900 metric tons & 21,700 metric tons respectively.
2021
Sadat, Mill No. 3
Mill No. 3 was set-up. It’s production capacity is 18,000 metric tons of jute yarn/ twine.

We have received National Export Awards 20 times in 23 years since 1990-91 from the Government of Bangladesh: Gold: 6, Silver: 7, Bronze: 6
Organization
Janata Jute Mills and Sadat Jute Industries Limited both have complete infrastructure facilities available for the Employees. These include residential facilities for a substantial number of the workforce.
Social Responsibility
Janata has it’s own School – “Janata Adarshya Biddyapit” for the children of the employees and of the local community, provide scholarships to the best students of “Janata Adarsha Biddyapit” school every year.
Employee Facilities
Contributing 5% of its gross profit to the Workers Profit Participation Fund (WPPF). Employees Welfare Fund was set-up to the amount of 5% of the basic pay of all its employees which is entirely funded by the Mill.
